Following the two closed discussions on Greek economic diplomacy that took place on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, and Wednesday, 2 April 2025, an advanced draft of the policy paper titled “Greek Economic Diplomacy: challenges and opportunities for the future” was presented on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at the premises of the Permanent Representation of Greece to the European Union (EU) in Brussels.

The closed roundtable discussion was opened by the Permanent Representative of Greece to the EU, Ambassador Ioannis Vrailas, and the Director General of ELIAMEP, Dr. Elena Lazarou, who both underscored the importance of economic diplomacy in the modern era.

The subsequent discussion focused on broader issues pertaining to the Greek economic diplomacy. Participants in the roundtable included officials of the Permanent Representation, representatives of the Greek business community, and Greek professionals from EU institutions and organisations involved and/or interested in several aspects of economic diplomacy.
