EUROPE DIRECT Peloponnese, in collaboration with the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), as part of the European program “ParticipatEU,” and the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese, is organizing an important informational event titled “Follow the EU-Vote for the EU” on Friday, May 24, 2024, in Room 1 of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of the Peloponnese, from 14:00 to 15:30.

The upcoming European elections in June 2024 present a significant challenge. Citizen participation is crucial, and it hinges on how well-informed individuals are about the European Parliament and the benefits of the European Union.

Starting from the belief that Europe is its citizens, it is imperative that European citizens, particularly the younger generation, become knowledgeable about their rights and the opportunities available through European cooperation. Understanding the mechanisms of the EU is essential. By June 2024, it is our collective responsibility to ensure everyone is informed and engaged in meaningful discussions. Being informed translates to taking a responsible stance and actively participating in the democratic process.

The event will cover a range of vital topics, including the role of the European Parliament and political groups, how European decisions are received by citizens, and the key challenges that lie ahead following the European elections.

The event will culminate with the presentation of the interactive game “Ticket to an EU Ride,” and there will be ample time for discussion and Q&A.

Registration: You can register for the event by following this link: https://forms.gle/R7DqCUhbdkSEzi7j7. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance, which will be sent to their email.

Engage in this opportunity to deepen your understanding of the European Union and its parliamentary elections. Your participation and informed perspective are vital to the future of Europe. Join us for an enlightening session that promises to be both educational and engaging.

The European Programme “ParticipatEU” is co-funded by the European Union.
