From 8–10 June 2026, representatives of think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration, an initiative of ELIAMEP supported by OSF–Western Balkans, visited Berlin for a series of high-level meetings and policy discussions with key German stakeholders and decision makers.

The delegation consisted of Dr. Ioannis Armakolas , Head, Wider Europe Programme – ELIAMEP & Director, think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration, Dr. Ana Krstinovska, Research Fellow, Wider Europe Programme – ELIAMEP & Senior Researcher, think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration and Frauke Seebass, Research Fellow, Wider Europe Programme – ELIAMEP & think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration.

On 9 June, the delegation held a series of meetings with representatives of the German Federal Foreign Office and the German Eastern Business Association. The team also met with Members of the Bundestag and parliamentary staff from the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the office of MP Peter Beyer.

On 10 June, the delegation participated in the Balkan Breakfast, hosted by the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), which brought together representatives of the Federal Foreign Office, Berlin-based think tanks, and civil society organisations working on the Western Balkans. Dr. Ana Krstinovska was invited as one of the featured speakers, contributing to discussions on the region’s European integration prospects.

Later that day, the delegation met with representatives of the Federal Chancellery to exchange views on developments in the Western Balkans and the region’s EU accession process.
