Frauke M. Seebass
Research Fellow, Wider Europe ProgrammeFrauke M. Seebass is a Research Fellow at the South-East Europe Programme of ELIAMEP and its initiative think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration, serving as a Brussels-based expert. Her work focuses on EU enlargement towards the Western Balkans and beyond, as well as on EU foreign and neighbourhood policy.
She is also a Visiting Fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Brussels and an Associate Fellow with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) in Berlin. Frauke is currently finalizing her PhD and is a Carl Lutz Fellow at Andrássy University Budapest, where her research examines EU foreign policy towards Kosovo.
Her professional experience includes a three-year project supporting youth participation in Georgia and Germany and managing a grant program for European journalists. She holds an M.Sc. in Peace & Conflict Studies from Radboud University Nijmegen and an M.A. in Linguistics & Communication from Potsdam University. As part of her doctoral research, she completed a visiting fellowship at the Centre for South-East European Studies at the University of Graz.
Across her diverse professional trajectory—from political communication and media to grassroots youth movements and cross-sectoral cooperation—her work consistently focuses on strengthening democratic participation and fostering inclusive European integration.
