As part of the monthly “Coffee & Career Talks” initiative, ELIAMEP hosted, on Thursday, 26 February 2026, a discussion with Mr. Panagiotis Giannakoulias, diplomat and inaugural Paul Sarbanes ’54 Fellow at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA).
The discussion focused on EU security and defence policy, EU-NATO cooperation, and professional pathways in diplomacy and European external relations, drawing on Mr. Giannakoulias’ experience at the European External Action Service and in Greek diplomatic missions. Particular emphasis was placed on the skills and qualifications required for careers in international security, defence policy, and EU foreign affairs.
The discussion was moderated by ELIAMEP’s Director General, Dr. Elena Lazarou, and was attended by young researchers from research institutions across Greece.
