The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, in collaboration with the PRIO Cyprus Centre, the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs, and the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) conducted a comparative study on migration in Egypt, Lebanon, Greece, and Cyprus. The results of the study will be presented on a Europe calling webinar exploring migration dynamics in the Eastern Mediterranean, on Monday, 28 April at 19.00 (Athens time).

As refugee arrivals increase along this route, the EU has strengthened migration cooperation with Egypt and Lebanon to curb crossings to Greece and Cyprus. But what do these agreements mean in practice? How do they affect people on the move, and how might the implementation of the new Common European Asylum System (CEAS) reshape the region’s response?

This webinar will present key findings from the study and will provide space for expert discussion on what a future EU migration policy could look like in this evolving context.

Registration is required to follow the online discussion.

🔹 The study will be published soon.
