On Thursday, the 7th of December 2023, a Peace Talk webinar will take place on the occasion of the publication of the edited volume “Vulnerability and Resilience to Violent Extremism: An Actor-Centric Approach” (project: PAVE / Preventing and Addressing Violent Extremism through Community Resilience in the Balkans and MENA).

The book explores the complex web of social dynamics surrounding violent extremism. Adopting an actor-centric approach, this volume examines the roles of state representatives, religious institutions and civil society actors. The analysis builds on empirical evidence collected in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Iraq, Lebanon, and Tunisia.

Four of the book’s co-editors and authors will explore the intricate web of societal dynamics surrounding violent extremism. After hearing from the authors, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in a discussion of the book’s key themes.
