Public discussion on “Future Enlargement of the European Union: Challenges and Prospects”

Europe Direct ELIAMEP Attica, in collaboration with the think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration initiative and ELIAMEP’s Southeast Europe Program, invites you to participate in an open discussion on “Future Enlargement of the European Union: Challenges and Prospects”, which will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Europa Experience venue (44-46 Stadiou Street, Athens). Admission will begin at 10:45.

The event will analyze the geopolitical, institutional, and economic adjustments required for the accession of new member states, as well as the social dimensions of future enlargement, such as public opinion, the role of young people, and the dilemma of “enlargement or deepening” of European integration. At the same time, the impact of the rise of Eurosceptic and radical political forces on decision-making and narratives about the future of Europe will be examined.
