Nikos Bakirtzis
Junior Research Fellow, South-East Europe ProgrammeNikos Bakirtzis is a political scientist with a Bachelor degree in Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies with a major on Balkan Studies and a MA in Political Science/ International Relations. He has worked as a researcher and research assistant and completed internships in Greece and abroad. He is a Humanity in Action Senior Fellow and he was a Konrad Adenauer Scholarship holder. Nikos is one of the co-founders and main researchers of the NGO SEE in Action which is based in Athens. He holds the position of Partnership Development Manager. His topics of interest are the issues of radicalization and extremism, nationalism, the democratization process of post-conflict states and the concept of European integration of the Western Balkans.
He speaks English and French fluently, while holding a basic knowledge of Serbian and Turkish.
