As part of the monthly “Coffee & Career Talks” series, ELIAMEP organised on Tuesday, 23 December 2025, a discussion with Ms. Christina Chiotelli, Advisor to the Political Director of the European External Action Service on Middle East and Human Resources matters. The discussion focused on career paths within the EU institutions, the role of the EEAS in shaping EU foreign policy, particularly with regard to the Middle East, as well as the skills, professional experiences, and competencies required for young professionals aspiring to work in EU external relations. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of adaptability and interdisciplinary expertise in a rapidly evolving international environment. The conversation was moderated by ELIAMEP’s Director General, Dr. Elena Lazarou, and attended by young researchers from various research institutions across Greece.
