On Wednesday 30 April 2025, the European Programme ‘Ariane Condellis’ of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) is organising a Public Agora event on the topic of citizens’ trust in institutions and the European Union (EU). The event is part of the EPACE-EU program (Enhancing Public Awareness and Civic Engagement in the EU), which is co-funded by the EU.
It aims to serve as a forum for the exchange of views on an important issue that directly concerns both Greece and the European family as a whole. Through this closed event, the intention is to highlight issues related to the crisis of trust in institutions, particularly in the three branches (judicial, executive, and legislative) of modern liberal democracy.
Thirty-five citizens of varying age groups, genders, professional fields, and educational backgrounds and levels are expected to participate, in order to gather opinions from a diverse sample of the population.
The event will be conducted in the Greek language, and participation is by personal invitation only, in order to ensure heterogeneity among participants.
