As part of SEE-ERA’s mission to foster inclusive and sustainable Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) across South-East Europe, the project has launched a series of internal mentoring visits with each partner organisation.
These mentoring sessions are designed to strengthen gender+ knowledge and capacities, encourage mutual learning, and support the co-creation of meaningful institutional change within research and innovation environments.
Through tailored guidance, reflection, and collaboration, partners work together to advance gender equality within their institutions – ensuring that GEP implementation becomes both effective and lasting.
The first mentoring visit took place on 2–3 October at ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy) in Athens.
Our mentors, Charoula Tzanakou and Evanthia Schmidt, met with the local SEE-ERA team, the internal Community of Practice, ELIAMEP’s leadership, and other staff members to exchange experiences and discuss progress and possible alliances for implementing the organisation’s Gender Equality Plan (GEP).
This visit marks an important step towards co-creating a more inclusive and gender-equal research environment across South-East Europe – one that builds on dialogue, shared learning, and institutional commitment to change.
