
On 11 September 2024 ELIAMEP participated in the Fair MusE project’s special session on “Copyright and Music Data in Europe: Transparency as an Imperative to Promote Creators’ Fair Remuneration and Music Diversity”, co-chaired by Prof. Giuseppe Mazziotti (Principal Investigator and Coordinator of Fair MusE) and Prof. Joost Poort, at the 19th Annual Conference of European Policy for Intellectual Property (EPIP), which took place in Pisa, Italy.
The conference was hosted by Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, in cooperation with the Department of Law of the University of Pisa. With a remarkable blend of more than 300 participants, the conference brought together scholars and experts in the fields of law, economics, management, and political science, as well as stakeholders and policymakers, to discuss intellectual property protection, science and innovation.
ELIAMEP was represented by Dr. Apostolos Samaras. During the conference, he delivered a presentation on “Fairness in the EU Music Policy: Heading Towards a Multifaceted Approach”, describing the main points and conclusions of the Fair MusE project report entitled “Origins, goals and effects of EU law and policy in the online music sector” by Antonios Vlassis, Evangelia Psychogiopoulou, Apostolos Samaras, Anna Kandyla and Dealan Riga.
