Closed roundtable discussion with Mr Camille Grand, ASD Europe, and Ms Paraskevi Papantoniou, DG DEFIS

The ELIAMEP Defence Hub organised a closed roundtable discussion featuring Mr Camille Grand, Secretary General of the European Aerospace, Security and Defence Industry (ASD Europe), and Ms Paraskevi Papantoniou, Head of Unit, Defence Single Market & Hybrid Threats, DG DEFIS, European Commission, on Monday, 4 May 2026. The discussion convened representatives of start-ups and major Greek defence and dual-use companies alongside relevant public authorities of the Hellenic Republic.

The discussion, moderated by Dr Elena Lazarou, Director General of ELIAMEP, centred primarily on industry-driven perspectives, offering participants the opportunity to share insights into the evolving European defence industrial environment. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying opportunities for enhanced cross-border industrial cooperation between Greek stakeholders and their European counterparts. At the same time, participants highlighted a range of obstacles limiting such collaboration, including regulatory constraints, financing gaps and structural inefficiencies. The exchange also explored ways to address these challenges in order to strengthen integration within the European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB).
