Ioannis Armakolas was a guest of Thanos Davelis on the podcast “The Greek Current” where he spoke about Greek-Albanian relations on the occasion of the recent ELIAMEP survey on Greek Public Opinion and Attitudes towards Albania, Albanians and Greek-Albanian Relations, which was conducted in the framework of the project “ALGREE – Albania-Greece: Understanding. Connecting. Partnering”. This research was funded by the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation – Office for Greece and Cyprus and carried out by the Public Opinion and Market Research Unit of the University Research Institute of the University of Macedonia.
Dr. Armakolas analyzed the results of the survey and spoke about the progress that has been made in Greek-Albanian relations – with an emphasis on people-to-people ties – amidst the prolonged challenges facing the two countries such as the Beleri affair. Furthermore, he said that although their views on Albanian migrants have drastically improved, the assessment of political relations is clearly worse.
