ELIAMEP organized on Thursday 12 June, a closed workshop on the use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in the field of law enforcement and, more broadly, in security.
The main objective of the meeting was to review the benefits and challenges related to the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) systems and applications by law enforcement authorities.
Participants in the meeting included representatives from the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Hellenic Police, officials from the Ministry of Digital Governance, officials from the Special Secretariat for Strategic Foresight under the Presidency of the Government, representatives of Independent Authorities (ADAE- Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy, HDPA- Hellenic Data Protection Authority), EUROPOL- European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation, the private sector (Microsoft, Google), as well as academics, scientific experts, and researchers in the fields of technology and security.
