A closed discussion on the Savings and Investment Union was held on Tuesday 12 May, featuring Enrico Letta, former Prime Minister of Italy and Dean of IE University’s School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs in Madrid, as keynote speaker.

The event was co-organised by the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research (IOBE), and the IE Competitiveness Hub, bringing together representatives from the financial sector, regulatory and supervisory authorities, and academia for a focused exchange of views.

Discussions focused on the prospects, opportunities, and risks linked to the transition towards a more integrated European investment market, as well as on the conditions needed to strengthen the European Capital Markets Union.
