On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Single European Act, the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research (IOBE), and the IE Competitiveness Hub brought together leading voices to explore Europe’s future.

The event featured Enrico Letta, former Prime Minister of Italy and Dean of the School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs at IE University in Madrid, and Kyriakos Pierrakakis, President of the Eurogroup and Minister of National Economy and Finance of Greece.

The discussion focused on the European Union’s technological sovereignty, the completion of the Savings and Investment Union, and deeper banking sector integration, as well as on fostering European business “champions” capable of competing on a global scale.

The discussion was moderated by Viktoria Dendrinou, Athens Bureau Chief, Bloomberg News.

Opening remarks were delivered by Dr Elena Lazarou, Director General of ELIAMEP, and Nikos Vettas, Director General of IOBE and Professor at AUEB.
