Eirini Sifaki, researcher for the REBOOT project, recently took part in the ‘Frames of Change’ International Conference on historicizing recent European cinema (1990-2025), organised by the Universidad Complutense in Madrid on 22-23 May 2025. Her presentation entitled ‘Cultural Narratives vs. Digital Dominance: Youth Perspectives on European Film’ examined how young audiencesengage with European cinema and the extent to which US-based streamers influence their viewing choices. Drawing on preliminry findings from an ongoing study involving Greek pupils and students, it explored the intersection of digital consumption patterns and the challenges facing European cinema.
