ELIAMEP bids farewell to Achilleas Mitsos, a value-driven collaborator for many years and a close friend. A Greek patriot with faith in our common European cause, Achilleas Mitsos played a pivotal role in the first decades of our country’s participation in the European Community and later the European Union. He persued a career at the European Commission that led him to the position of Director General of Research. After his return to Greece, he was elected professor at the University of the Aegean and has always been actively involved in civic life.
