Panayotis Tsakonas wrote an article for newspaper TA NEA detailing the different policies that Greek governments have used to mitigate crises with Turkey. Mapping the political history of this conflict from 1970 to today, he explained that Greek leaders Karamanlis, Mitsotakis and Simitis shared the same guiding principle in their dealings with Ankara and that was “rationale”.
