Ioannis Armakolas (Head of the South-East Europe Programme at ELIAMEP & Director of think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration) was hosted by journalist Dimitra Makri on the DION TV show “Starting Together”. He spoke on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Agreement, discussing the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Western Balkans region, as well as the new prospects linked to the EU enlargement process, issues examined by ELIAMEP’s initiative think nea – New Narratives of EU Integration, supported by OSF-WB.

Among other things, Dr. Armakolas highlighted the significance of the Dayton Agreement, the complex political system and the challenges facing Bosnian society, as well as the broader difficulties in the Western Balkan countries at a time when the EU’s enlargement policy has returned to the forefront following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He emphasized the need for significant decisions and initiatives both from the EU and from the Western Balkan countries themselves.
