Ioannis N. Grigoriadis observes that, as it puts the main opposition party under ever-increasing pressure, the governing coalition is restricting the space for democratic political activity in Turkey. He also notes that, in so doing, it seems to be banking on the acquiescence at least of the pro-Kurdish political movement.
