The insignia of Knight of the Legion of Honor (Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur) were bestowed upon Professor Maria Gavouneli, Member of the Board of Directors and former Director General of ELIAMEP, and Mr Margaritis Schinas, Minister of Rural Development and Food and former Vice-President of the European Commission.
The ceremony was conducted by the Minister Delegate for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Benjamin Haddad, at the French Embassy in Athens on Saturday, April 25, 2026, during the official visit of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, to Greece.
