European climate diplomacy and the challenges posed by aviation and maritime emissions

In this podcast, we are joined by George Dikaios, ELIAMEP Research Fellow, on the occasion of the publication of his book entitled “EU climate diplomacy towards the IMO and ICAO” (Palgrave Macmillan Publications). We talk about climate change, extreme weather events and how they affect our daily lives, as well as European climate diplomacy and how it takes shape within the European Union. We then discuss case studies on EU climate diplomacy towards the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), given that neither organisation is currently contributing in any systematic way to efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
