Ioanna Sapfo Pepelasi, speaking to the Athens–Macedonian News Agency (AMNA) on the occasion of the publication of the Working Paper titled “Spreading Innovation: A case study on acceleration within the startup ecosystem of Greece, a Diaspora Nation” discusses the MITEF Greece model — which, incidentally, evolved in 2023 into StartSmart Southeastern Europe, expanding its geographic reach and attracting to Greece even startups from Israel (a country with very strong performance in entrepreneurship). She explains why this model is not easy to replicate and notes that it can certainly provide inspiration and direction for overcoming fragmentation among the organizations and support policies within the ecosystem.
