From 1993 to 1999: Head of the Unit “Energy Co-operation with non EU countries” in Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission.
From 1988 to 1993: Assistant to the Director-General for Energy of the European Commission.
From 1987 to 1988: In charge of Personnel, Administration and Budget at the European Commission Delegation and Press Office in Paris for France, OECD and UNESCO.
From 1985 to 1987: Seconded from the European Commission, as an Adviser to the French Ministry of Transport.
From 1982 to 1985: Worked in the Unit “Financial Management and Contracts” in the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission.
Prior to the European Commission he worked, for 5 years (1977-1982), in the Paris Transport Authority (RATP).
