Research Fellow, South-East Europe ProgrammeNeven Vukic, holding a PhD from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, is a noted scholar at the intersection of Theology, religious extremism, and digital studies. Dr. Vukic also possesses a Master’s degree in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from the same university, enriching his interdisciplinary approach to understanding historical and contemporary religious dialogues. His academic career is marked by a deep engagement with issues related to Christian Orthodox and Muslim interactions, particularly within the digital sphere. Currently, Dr. Vukic serves as a Project Manager at the Horizon Europe GEMS Project and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin. Here, he leads initiatives that explore the complex relationships between gaming, extremism, and societal impacts, demonstrating his commitment to integrating technology with theological research.
Dr. Vukic’s scholarly contributions include numerous peer-reviewed articles and chapters focusing on Orthodox theology and its dialogue with Islam, examining the impact of digital media on religious expression and extremism. His work has been published in leading journals and he is a contributing author to several books addressing the nuances of interfaith understanding and conflict.
