‘Ariane Condellis’ Post Doc Research Fellow; Project Manager European Institutions and Policies Programme

Dr. Konstantinos A. Kanellopoulos is the Post Doctoral Research Fellow at ELIAMEP’s Ariane Condellis European Programme. He earned his Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Manchester, where his research used historical institutionalism to analyze Greece’s economic crises during the Great Depression and the Global Financial Crisis, identifying key parallels between the two episodes. Dr Kanellopoulos’ research specializes in European politics and International Political Economy, the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), governance, the political economy of crises, and the polycentric world.

He also holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and International Relations from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), with a concentration in European and Eurasian Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Philosophy from American University in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Kanellopoulos has extensive experience in European institutions, think tanks, and academia. He has contributed to Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe projects, focusing on economic impact assessments, sustainability, and governance. As Chief Administrator of the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, he organized high-impact events, secured international collaborations, and expanded the Centre’s outreach. He has contributed as a speaker and moderator to international fora such as the Delphi Economic Forum and the Concordia Summit.

His forthcoming book on Greece’s crises will be published by Papazissis Publications. Recognized as a Tomorrow 25 leader by Time magazine and Bentley University, he is also a member of several academic organizations.
