Ioanna Giakoumopoulou holds a first-class BSc in International Relations with History from The London School of Economics and Political Science. She is currently pursuing a MSc in Southeast European Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing on foreign policy in the Western Balkans.

She is trained in the theory of International Relations, Security and Peacebuilding, as well as European Political History. She has interned in both London and Athens, gaining valuable experience in the field. Her engagements include working with NGOs such as Minority Rights Group International and esteemed organizations like the Council of Europe and UNHCR.

Her experience extends to primary research and ethnographic studies, particularly on extremism and radicalization in the Balkan region. Additionally, she has collaborated with University College London to organize the annual international interdisciplinary conference, UCL Leaders.

She speaks in English, French, and Spanish.
