Electra Nisidou

Junior Research Fellow, Turkey Programme

Electra Nisidou is a Junior Research Fellow at ELIAMEP’s Turkey Program, Scientific Associate at the Institute for Alternative Policies (ENA) and Research Assistant at King’s College London’s Energies on the Ground research project, under the supervision of Professor Emel Akçalı.

She is a graduate of the Department of Turkish and Modern Asian Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds two Master’s degrees: in Migration Studies from the University of the Aegean and in International and European Governance and Politics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has completed internships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence at the University of Athens, and the Refugee and Migration Crisis Observatory at the University of the Aegean.

Her research interests focus on the Middle East, the Islamic world, and the Mediterranean, with particular emphasis on the geopolitics of the region and East-West relations.

She is fluent in English and French and has a very good knowledge of Turkish and Arabic.
