In the early days of the long economic crisis in Greece, a new productive model began to emerge, with its epicenter the emerging startup ecosystem of the country. Since then a number of studies have mapped the evolution of the ecosystem, focusing mostly on funding, startup exits and macro level mappings of startuppers and their initiatives.
This webinar will attempt a fresh perspective to the study of the Greek startup ecosystem, focusing on innovation, internationalization and the diaspora nexus, while also introducing a combined micro and macro approach. It opens with a presentation of recent research findings on the aforementioned theme from a micro level analysis (ELIAMEP Working paper 19/11/2025) on the outcomes and organization of a uniquely placed accelerator in the ecosystem.
The ensuing, main body of the webinar will focus on a general appreciation of the present situation and the enrichment of future prospects for the innovation, internationalization, diaspora nexus.
