On 4 February 2026, ELIAMEP welcomed a delegation from the Society of International Relations, one of the oldest and most active student organisations at the University of Tartu (Estonia).
During an interactive presentation by Professor Spyros Blavoukos, Senior Research Fellow and Head of the European Programme “Ariane Condellis” at ELIAMEP, the discussion focused on the limited cohesion within the EU in matters of international relations and foreign policy, the challenges stemming from enlargement, and the need to foster deeper European solidarity, particularly in the fields of security and defence. The session also examined the institutional obstacles within the EU’s decision-making processes, as well as the role of the United States in the evolving geopolitical landscape. The visit highlighted the trust that international academic institutions place in ELIAMEP’s work and reaffirmed its role as a reliable source of evidence-based analysis and a hub for meaningful policy dialogue, recognised by universities and research organisations across Europe.
