Professor Maria Gavouneli at the 17th Istanbul Security Conference

Professor Maria Gavouneli, Director General of ELIAMEP, participated in the 17th Istanbul Security Conference, held on 28–29 May 2025 and organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Baskent University. During the forum, she joined a panel discussion focused on the Eastern Mediterranean and the implications of the involvement of multiple international and regional actors in the area.

This year’s conference, titled “A New World Order?”, brought together policymakers, academics, and security experts from around the globe, fostering a rich exchange of views on emerging geopolitical challenges.
