Elena Lazarou, Director General of ELIAMEP, participated on 25 February 2026 in the online discussion entitled “The State of the Union: Implications for the Transatlantic Relationship”, organised by the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMFUS), together with Daniel Kliman, Senior Vice President, Global Power Shifts at GMFUS, and Sudha David-Wilp, Vice President of External Relations and Senior Fellow at GMFUS, and moderated by journalist Ali Aslan.
The event focused on the potential impact of the State of the Union address on US–EU relations at a time of intensifying transatlantic challenges. Dr Lazarou addressed the key priorities and strategic directions shaping relations between Europe and the United States.
