In April 2024, Dimitris Kollias represented ELIAMEP at two European Commission meetings for beneficiaries of the Justice and Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programmes in Brussels: the hybrid kick-off meeting with Justice and CERV 2023 project coordinators and the networking meeting with CERV 2024 operating grant framework partners. Discussions covered grant management, EU policy priorities under the Justice and CERV programmes, and initial reflections feeding into the preparation of the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028–2034, including the future of the CERV programme and its successor.
These meetings offered an opportunity to exchange with Commission officials, EU networks, civil society organisations and think tanks on issues such as hate speech and polarisation, active citizenship and democratic participation, and support for fundamental rights and the rule of law. Dimitris brings these insights into ELIAMEP’s work on European affairs, civic space and public policy.
