On 28 May, ELIAMEP hosted the seminar “Digital Authoritarianism in Turkey: The Erosion of Press Freedom and the Weaponization of Technology.”
Ms. Ezgi Daryürek (Researcher, MSc Programme in Media and Migration Flows, University of Athens) presented her award-winning research, which was selected through the ELIAMEP Turkey Programme’s Call for Papers, “Advancing Critical Understanding of Contemporary Turkey”.
The presentation was followed by a discussion attended by diplomats, policy experts, academics, and journalists, providing an opportunity to exchange views on issues relating to politics, media freedom, and technology in Turkey, as well as their broader implications.
