On 26 May, Dr. Elena Lazarou, Director General of ELIAMEP, Ms Ino Afentouli, Senior Policy Advisor and Head of ELIAMEP’s Observatory of Geopolitics and Diplomacy, and Dr. Constantine Capsaskis, Research Fellow with ELIAMEP’s Mediterranean Programme, participated in a meeting with a bipartisan delegation of Congressional staffers and a team of Greek diplomats, hosted by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussion covered a wide range of regional and international developments, including the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, Greek-Turkish relations, developments in the Gulf and Iran, China’s growing role in global affairs, EU enlargement, transnational repression and democracy and the role of think tanks in informing public policy and international dialogue. Participants also exchanged views on the evolving geopolitical landscape and its implications for regional stability, security and transatlantic cooperation.
