ELIAMEP hosted a closed-door working dinner in honour of Ms Radmila Shekerinska, Deputy Secretary General of NATO. The dinner began with a moderated conversation between the NATO DSG and Ms Alexandra Papadopoulou, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic. The discussion was moderated by ELIAMEP’s General Director Elena Lazarou. It convened a group of experts, industry leaders, and institutional stakeholders for a high-level discussion on NATO’s evolving threat assessment. The conversation focused in particular on Russia’s war on Ukraine, and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, two critical theatres where conventional and hybrid challenges intersect.
Participants explored how these dynamics are reshaping NATO’s deterrence posture, operational readiness, and strategic priorities across both its eastern and southern flanks. The discussion also highlighted key implications for the defense industrial base, including production capacity, supply chain resilience, innovation, and the growing importance of public-private cooperation.
The event was held with the kind support of THEON INTERNATIONAL, a leading European defense technology company active across 72 countries.
