As part of the monthly “Coffee & Career Talks” initiative, ELIAMEP hosted, on Monday, 26 January 2026, a discussion with Mr. Chris Allen, former Resident Economic Advisor to the European Commission in Athens (2015-2024).
The discussion focused on the design and implementation of European economic policy, reflections on the management of the Greek economic crisis and the subsequent recovery, as well as career pathways within EU institutions. Particular emphasis was placed on the skills and qualifications required for careers in economic policy, European governance, and public policy-making.
The discussion was moderated by ELIAMEP’s Director General, Dr. Elena Lazarou, and was attended by young researchers from research institutions across Greece.
