In this episode, we explore the evolving dynamics of Turkey–Israel relations with Ioannis N. Grigoriadis, Associate Professor at Bilkent University and Head of the Turkey Programme at ELIAMEP, and Ilektra Nisidou, Junior Research Fellow on ELIAMEP’s Turkey Programme.
Drawing on their policy paper “Indispensable Enemies: The Shifting Dynamics of Israeli–Turkish Relations”, we discuss whether relations between Ankara and Tel Aviv are best described as being locked in crisis, moving towards normalization, or something in between; the centrality of Gaza and the Palestinian issue; the resilience of bilateral economic ties, despite the political tensions; and what all this means for regional security in the Middle East.
