A new book, entitled “The Middle East: 1945–2025. The Tyranny of Expectations and Beliefs”, is co-authored by Alexandros Diakopoulos, Vice Admiral (ret.), President and CEO of Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Honorary Commander of the National Defense School, former National Security Advisor, and member of the Board of Directors of ELIAMEP; Kostas Ifantis, Professor of International Relations at Panteion University; and Constantinos Filis, Professor of International Relations and Director of the Institute of International Affairs at the American College of Greece, in conversation with journalist Makis Provatas. The book is published by Patakis Publications.
From the back cover of the book:
“Is it fair to view the Middle East as a single, unified entity? Can Arabs and Jews coexist? And what happens when one fights not to achieve political objectives, but for the total destruction of the opponent? Two professors of International Relations, a retired vice admiral, and a journalist explore—live and interactively—violent mythologies and dense, fast-moving developments from 1945 to the present day, in a volatile region that affects the entire world: Kostas Yfantis, Konstantinos Filis, Alexandros Diakopoulos, Middle East 1945–2025: The Tyranny of Expectations and Beliefs. Conversations with Makis Provatas.”
