Othon Kaminiaris
Research Associate, Climate Policy; European Neighbourhood Policy; SustainabilityDr. Othon Kaminiaris is an Expert on Environment and Climate Change Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic. He is also a Research Associate at the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy. He has previously worked as an independent researcher for public and private organisations in Greece, including ELIAMEP, the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE), the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA/IEEP), and The Green Tank, focusing on climate change, energy, just transition, and open governance. He also has extensive experience in the management and implementation of programmes. He received his PhD with honours from the said University, for which he was awarded a scholarship by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration and a Master’s degree in International and European Studies. He speaks English, French, and Spanish. Finally, he serves as President of the Alumni Association of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration.
