Following the publications of the ELIAMEP Policy Paper titled “Higher Education in Greece in the New European and International Environment” ELIAMEP organized a public discussion on the autonomy of the Universities in Greece today. Speakers included Prof. Andreas Karamanos, secretary-general of the Ministry of Education, Prof. Christos Kittas, Rector at the National &Kapodistrian University of Athens, Prof. Nikos Alivizatos at the Law School of National &Kapodistrian University of Athens, Prof. Socrates Katsikas, former Rector at the University of the Aegean, Prof. Lefteris Papagiannakis, former Vice-Rector at the National Technical University of Athens. The dicsussion was coordinated by Prof. Loukas Tsoukalis, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and President, ELIAMEP.
