The South-East Europe Programme of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) invites applications from ambitious and energetic young people to apply for a communications and promotion internship. The intern will work primarily for the academic journal Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, focusing on promoting new issues and articles as well as maintaining our social media. Some administrative tasks will also be included. The intern would be expected to work from home, 5-15 hours weekly, and virtually with a small team. Unfortunately are not able to provide any financial support.

Responsibilities:

  • Promoting/publicizing new journal articles and issues on social media, via ELIAMEP’s website, etc.; communication with authors, guest editors and ELIAMEP staff included
  • Managing the journal’s social media presence, including: researching and selecting interesting and relevant articles (analysis, opinion pieces, etc.) regarding the Southeast Europe, the Black Sea region, Turkey & Europe in general; regularly updating the Twitter and Facebook pages with such links; and keeping track of the analytics (views, clicks, followers etc.).

Requirements: The intern should have a working knowledge of the Black Sea and/or Southeast Europe regions regarding topics such as politics, society and the economy, excellent English, experience publishing on social media and a capacity for online research.
