Dr. Marika Karagianni is a legal and international relations expert, specialized on international energy issues. She has served at the Hellenic Government for 24 years in different positions, as special advisor on energy diplomacy to Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic and a permanent energy expert at the Hellenic Government Administration.

She is a visiting lecturer and external research associate at: PSIR (Political Science & International Relations), University of Peloponnese, Department of Economic Studies- University of Thessaly (Volos) and International Hellenic University – Department of Oil & Gas (Kavala).

Author of two books: “Hydrocarbons: the contracts for offshore field development” (Nomiki Vivliothiki, 2018) and “Does energy cause ethnic war?” Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2019.
