A great man, Kostas Apostolidis, has passed away. He was a great man in every sense of the word. A pioneering entrepreneur who built a cutting-edge tech company by investing in research and innovation and choosing worthy partners—a company based in the town where he was born and raised but still with a powerful international presence. A truly outstanding Greek multinational and a model company.
He loved his hometown deeply and gave back to it generously. His love for Drama was great, unstinting and contagious. And he loved his homeland, Greece, as much.
He was a true patriot in deeds, not words. Because Kostas Apostolidis was a man of few words and a modesty as unfeigned as it was out of keeping with his achievements and contributions.
As a member of the Board and broader ELIAMEP family, Kostas Apostolidis has been an integral part of our collective effort and the Foundation’s most generous donor for many years. He believed in its mission and in the work it performs. And while he was open-handed in his support, he never drew attention to the fact.
Those of us who were lucky enough to know him will be forever grateful. We will miss him very much. He was a rare human being in whom a clear mind was combined with organizational ability, a willingness and ability to work hard with a big heart and humility. And a loving family who supported him.
