The European Higher Military Education (EU HME) course was held on 30 March 2026 at the Supreme Joint War College (SJWC – ΑΔΙΣΠΟ) in Thessaloniki, Greece. The course brought together senior military officers and experts from EU Member States, offering a platform for dialogue on strategic challenges, defence cooperation and the evolving European security landscape. Its aim was to foster a shared European strategic culture and to strengthen civil‑military understanding in the field of security and defence.
Opening and welcoming remarks were delivered by Colonel Dimitrios Panousis, Course Director of the SJWC, alongside senior representatives of the College. The course introduction was delivered by Jugoslav Jogiz, Training manager, European Security and Defence College (ESDC).
Dr. Elena Lazarou, participated as a speaker, delivering a lecture on “The EU Strategic Environment”, focusing on key developments shaping the EU’s strategic outlook.
