Αs part of its initiatives for Sustainable Development and the promotion of innovation, Beyond CSR hosted the 1st Blue Heritage Summit on 17–19 March 2026 in Thessaloniki, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of the Interior- Macedonia & Thrace Department, the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, CSR Hellas, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EBETH), as well as numerous institutional and academic partners. The Blue Heritage Summit serves as a framework institution of the international Blue Heritage Project, which connects the Blue, Circular and Regenerative Economy with Culture, enhancing the resilience and sustainable prosperity of coastal regions within the context of the Dual Transition. Its inaugural theme was: ‘Navigating Innovation at the Geopolitical Crossroads’.
Throughout the Conference, a wide range of thematic areas was explored, spanning finance, energy, environment, agri-food, technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, infrastructure, shipping, and diplomacy. The objective was to generate concrete projects, policy papers, and a roadmap of best practices for implementation at both national and European level. The Summit featured speakers and participants from the political, academic, and business sectors of Greece, as well as EU Commissioners and Representatives, including the EU Representative for the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Ambassador Alexandre Stutzmann.
ELIAMEP participated in the event, with Director General, Dr. Elena Lazarou, serving as a speaker on the panel “Southeast Europe in a Shifting Geopolitical Landscape.” The session also featured: Frentis Beleris, Member of the European Parliament, European People’s Party; Vangelis Doules, President of the Human Rights Union Party and Member of the Albanian Parliament; Michalis Katrinis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament (Elis), PASOK–KINAL, Head of the National Defense Sector; Spyros Litsas, Professor of International Relations, University of Macedonia; Constantinos Filis, Director, Institute of Global Affairs. The discussion was moderated by journalist Nikos Oikonomou.
