Dr. Elena Lazarou, Director General of ELIAMEP, participated in the panel “A New Geopolitical Reality: Europe Amid Global Geopolitical Upheavals” alongside Pascal Ausseur, Director General of the Mediterranean Foundation for Strategic Studies (FMES); Giorgos Pagoulatos, Greece’s Ambassador to the OECD; Bruno Tertrais, Deputy Director of the Foundation for Strategic Research (FRS); and Georgios Sefertzis, Political Scientist. The discussion, moderated by Christine Ockrent, Senior Producer at France Culture, examined the shifting global balance of power and the pressure Europe faces as great power competition intensifies. Dr. Lazarou emphasized the need for renewed European capacity to navigate accelerating geopolitical transformations while simultaneously addressing the challenges of internal cohesion and economic prosperity.
